There was a deferred task open and in the last weeks I had time to complete it, but when actually can you say something is completed. Anyway, there are some ideas left for this website, in future I will implement this, but now there are waiting a new webproject and some prepress jobs.

There aren’t big changes of the base design, but I needed more space for content in general, so the panels are wider than in the old design. Someone told me, that this site is to german and there were a lot of page referers from translate.google.com, so I decided to give the site some english content to, I just hope that my moderate english would be better than a google translation.

But there was a big change in the background, this website is powered now by a new Content Management System called ExpressionEngine. 

Get the right stuff

I started this website to made some enhanced experience in XHTML, CSS, PHP as well get some knowledge in Content Management Systems. I got a tutorial for building your own CMS, this was good to understand how a CMS work and I got also some experience for PHP and MySQL databases to, but it means a lot of work if you create a unique system and particularly if you want add some new features. So it’s much easier to join a community, which work on the same system and which everyone could help and share his experience and stuff.

There are a lot of Content Managements Systems now and I it’s much harder to find the right solution for your own site. I don’t needed a big solution like Typo3 and for a Blog CMS like Wordpress I had some worries in the other direction. After the experience with the free EE Core version I switched definitely to ExpressionEngine, I had a lot of fun to setup this site, which is in my opinion the most important element for the right choice. To embed content from the database into a site template by using these EE Tags is supposably the impressively feature, these tags are easy to handle and give such a flexibility.

I did know about the large community of Wordpress and their stuff, but I did also know that EE has some stuff to, a few weeks after I got EE, they announced her new web appearance and it looks confident, that there will be more on this stuff soon.
